The MC Zenitar-M 50mm f/1.9 was one of the last lenses designed & manufactured in the Soviet Union. Although it might seem like it from the name, this lens shares very few similarities with the MC Zenitar-M 50mm f/1.7.
Overall, the MC Zenitar-M 50mm f/1.9 offers the kind of performance you can expect from any old planar design, with pleasing 3D pop, decent bokeh that shines in simple scenes, and a beautiful rendering between in-and-out-of focus areas.
One particular highlight of this lens is its sharpness, which at f/5.6, is almost perfect, indicating a very strong optical design.
